Policy projects for sustainable agriculture

Interview with the Director of Agrochemicals and Biologicals of Senasa, Nicolás Auñón, on the regulation of bioinputs and biopreparations.

Abstract

In line with global trends, Argentina seeks to promote sustainable agricultural practices to address various challenges in the sector, such as soil degradation, the decrease in biodiversity and the excessive use of agrochemicals. In this scenario, the use of bioinputs and biopreparations emerges as an alternative and complement to address these problems and promote agricultural practices linked to caring for the environment and people's health.

In order to discuss this issue in depth, we talked to Nicolás Auñón, director of Agrochemicals and Biologicals of the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa), who explained the new regulatory projects to guarantee the safety and efficacy of these biological products, as well as to promote their adoption in Argentine agriculture at different scales.
